How can we help reduce global warming?

Global warming is the current phenomenon that is surely but slowly growing towards an objective of making planet earth lifeless. The major reason for this phenomenon is the human race. In the rat race towards economic prosperity, we as human have forgotten that the resources available on this planet are limited and help create an ecological balance. The ever growing human race has over burdened the planet with mining and growing and the results are for everyone to see. In addition to this, we are adding a lot unneeded pollutants to the environment that are making sure that the natural environment of the planet is changing towards being toxic. Preventing global warming is something that has taken precedence across the world today and let us how we can help reduce global warming.

a. Creating awareness: Creating awareness and education the next generation about sustainability. This education should include buying more and more eco-friendly products and making the full use of them. Wasting less and living efficiently are the two keywords that need to be drilled into their education in stark opposition to pressurized consumption lifestyles that we lead today. What better way to do it than by practice? Educating them about the fall-outs of waste is also important.

b. Conserving power: The major source of pollutants and over consumption of fossil fuels is the power industry and it best to reduce demand for them so that they consume lesser of the same. Conserving electricity and power would be the best way to go. Also, if you are buying a new car, make sure that it is eco-friendly in all respects –emission standards, power consumption, efficiency, alternate power sources etc. Although considered risky, power production should shift to nuclear based fuels so that the consumption is met with the minimum possible resources. Encouraging yourself and your families to use more public transport could be a good way to conserve fossil fuels.

c. Alternate energy: sing alternate energy at home by opting for solar power or biodegradable fuel power plants would be a good ides. Not only will this step help conserve the environment but also would go a long way in reducing dependency on fossil based fuels and save money.
Organizations like the Sierra Club, Natural Resources Defense Council and Environmental Defense are working round the clock towards encouraging and developing environment friendly options for most polluting industries and they can do with a little help from you.
