How can we help poverty?

Poverty is one big social disease that has been pestering the humankind for ages. Getting rid of it is no easy task, however, it needs a big effort and a collective one to make sure that it is eradicated quickly and efficiently. As per the UN (United Nations) poverty is a defined as a state of society where a person earns less than one USD (United States Dollar) a day. Seems serious, isn’t it, so how can we help poverty?

a. Poverty is mostly the state of affairs of a particular region or a geographical area. It could be the result of non-conducive weather conditions, lack of food production or even lack of social governance. Whatever be the reason, creating awareness of the reasons involved can be good beginning. Once this sets in, it makes people think about changing lifestyles, working conditions or even encourage them to migrate to greener pastures.

b. Another good method of dealing with poverty could be to generate aid in the form of money, material or even food. A good system that works by distributing this aid fully to the affected can alleviate people under the poverty line to grow and shine.

c. A good way to make sure that poverty does not become a generational habit is to educate the younger generation and make sure that they grow in life and career as any normal person would. Creating such opportunities would make sure that the future generation would not be effected by poverty.

d. Another effective way to fight poverty is to help charities and raise funds to fight the cause. Although this is done by many organizations across the world, money helps get the much needed aid to regions struck by poverty and helps people survive.

Organizations like CARE and Bread For The World are doing a great job to help fight poverty, they are still not successful in removing the same successfully over the years. When you question yourself, how to help poverty, it is essential to keep in mind that every dime counts and if you have done your bit to alleviate it and encouraged others to do so..!
